Shijia Zhang, MD, PhD
Dr. Zhang is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute (FCS) in Brandon and Sun City Center, Florida.
Dr. Zhang earned his medical degree from Tongji University School of Medicine, graduating first in his class. He went on to obtain a doctorate in biomedical sciences from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Following this, he completed internal medicine residency training at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark and further advanced his training with a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota, where he was honored with the Outstanding Hematology-Oncology Fellow Award.
As a medical investigator, Dr. Zhang has conducted extensive research on stem cell-based therapies for the treatment of various cancers and other diseases. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in scientific journals and presented his work at national and international symposiums. In addition, he serves as a peer reviewer for several esteemed scientific journals.
Prior to joining FCS in 2025, Dr. Zhang cared for patients at a Midwest-based oncology practice.
