Abida Taher, MD
Abida Taher, MD, PhD is a board-certified nuclear medicine physician with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute.
Dr. Taher attended medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, where she also completed a doctorate in biochemistry. She completed nuclear medicine residency training at Baylor School of Medicine in Houston and was awarded fellowships in oncologic imaging and PET-CT/Diagnostic CT body imaging at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. She also completed a mini-fellowship in Neuro PET-CT/Dementia Imaging at the UCLA Department of Nuclear Medicine in Los Angeles.
Dr. Taher has expertise in oncologic imaging, molecular brain imaging and radioisotope therapy, and special interest in medical education and radiation safety. Prior to joining FCS in 2017, she served as a nuclear medicine physician in private practice and inpatient hospital settings. She has authored articles, abstracts and presentations in peer-reviewed journals and at professional symposiums.
Clinical memberships include the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Nuclear Medicine.
