Hyon Jeong Kim, MD, PhD
Hyon Jeong Kim, MD, PhD is Board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. After earning her doctorate in genetics and cell biology from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul/Minneapolis, MN, she received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota Medical Center. Dr. Kim completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, which is where she was awarded a fellowship in hematology/oncology.
Prior to joining FCS, Dr. Kim held leadership positions with Benign Hematology, University of Cincinnati Adult Sickle Cell Center, as assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati and staff physician at Cincinnati VAMC.
Dr. Kim has a strong interest in research with a focus on sickle cell diseases, which were a focus of her lectures at the 2016 Internal Medicine Grand Round, the 2017 Hematology/Oncology Grand Round and for the University of Cincinnati Medical School curriculum. She is a member of American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the Association of VA Hematology Oncology.
