Alpana Ashok Desai, MD
After graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Desai received her internal medicine training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. After completing her residency, Dr. Desai relocated to the Stuart area, where she practiced emergency and internal medicine, before completing her Medical Oncology fellowship at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Since 2002, Dr. Desai has been treating cancer patients in Stuart, FL, where she also serves as Chairwoman of the Martin Health Cancer Committee. Dr. Desai joined Florida Cancer Specialists in 2017.
Demonstrated by her active participation in various research projects throughout her training, Dr. Desai has an avid interest in clinical research. She has served as principal investigator in a number of clinical trials and has a special interest in breast, colorectal and lung malignancies. Dr. Desai is focused on treating the whole patient, utilizing conventional and complementary therapies. She is currently pursuing a prestigious Integrative Medicine Fellowship, led by internationally-recognized integrative medicine leader Andrew Weil, MD, at the University of Arizona Medical School.
