Christopher George, MD

Dr. George is a Medical Oncologist and Hematologist for Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in Hillsborough County. Throughout his career, Dr. George has been an active participant in clinical trial research, which he describes as “the driver” of the many new and innovative therapies that continue to improve cancer diagnosis and treatment. He says that his greatest reward is the ever-expanding population of cancer survivors who are succeeding and living full lives, thanks to scientific breakthroughs that enable therapies tailored to target each patient’s specific tumor.

Dr. George is Board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology and Internal Medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine in Tampa, and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society in his senior year of medical school. Dr. George completed Internal Medicine residency training and a fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, California. He was elected to Fellow of the American College of Internal Medicine.

Dr. George joined the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® Boards of Directors in 2008 until 2020 when he went emeritus. He served as Chair of the Board of Governors from 2019 to 2020.
