Ayman Barakat, MD
Dr. Barakat is a board-certified medical oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Hernando and Pasco counties. Dr. Barakat has a special interest in breast, colorectal and lung malignancies, and takes pride in providing his patients with exceptional care, utilizing the most novel and evidence-based therapies in his practice.
Dr. Barakat received his internal medicine training at Texas Medical Center, including MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He practiced internal medicine in the Midwest and later completed a hematology and oncology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. His clinical research has been published in several recognized medical journals.
He began his private practice as an associate member at the Tulsa Cancer Institute in Oklahoma before moving to Florida. He joined FCS in 2015 and now calls Florida home, where he resides with his wife and two children. He enjoys swimming and playing basketball with his kids.
