H. Bindu Lingam, MD

Dr. Lingam is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Pasco County, Florida.

Dr. Lingam is deeply committed to providing cutting-edge treatment options for patients as well as addressing disparities in cancer care. She seeks to provide innovative and compassionate care, incorporating wellness and a patient’s whole life experience.

Her nearly 20 years of experience has encompassed a variety of clinical settings. She has served in federal roles at the Food & Drug Administration, National Institutes of Health, and the Veterans Affairs Health Administration, integrating science, equity, and patient care in oncology. Dr. Lingam is proud to have received the 2023 FDA CDER Civility Award, which recognizes professionalism and respect in healthcare.

Dr. Lingam‘s work is shaped by a focus on clinical trials. She has been an investigator in over 40 oncology trials conducted with national clinical research networks across a variety of tumor types, with a focus on breast and gynecologic malignancies. Through her published work, she has made key contributions to oncology and hematology literature.

Additionally, she provides pro bono, expert second opinion oncology consulting services for cancer patients in South Asia, helping to bridge the gap in care across regions with limited resources.

Dr. Lingam earned her medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. She completed her internal medicine residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston and a hematology / oncology fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine’s Texas Medical Center in Houston. She has also completed a four month locum tenens rotation in the gastrointestinal oncology division of Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.

With a keen interest in how artificial intelligence can be incorporated into oncology care, she completed an Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare certification through the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
