Daniel Ezekwudo, MD, PhD

Dr. Ezekwudo is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Charlotte County.

Dr. Ezekwudo provides personalized care for patients with all types of cancer, with a focus on thoracic, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, and breast cancers.

After receiving his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in Portsmouth, Dominica, Dr. Ezekwudo completed internal medicine residency training at Central Michigan University in Saginaw and a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, Michigan, where he received awards for scholarly activity and was named as Best Graduating Fellow.

Dr. Ezekwudo pursued his medical training after earning a doctorate in pharmacology at Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta. He has an extensive background in microbiology and biochemistry and holds a patent for fabricating a method for injecting targeted cancer drugs and other substances that improves effectiveness and reduces side effects for patients..

Dr. Ezekwudo began his medical career with Ochsner Cancer Institute in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 2022, he was named program director of the hematology and oncology fellowship program for the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. He joined FCS in 2025.

His professional memberships include the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
