
Jacqueline Ambrose
FCS General CounselAs General Counsel, Jacqueline Ambrose leads the organization’s legal strategy and provides counsel on regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance. She oversees Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute’s (FCS) dispute resolution efforts, high-stakes litigation, and medical malpractice defense.
Prior to her appointment as General Counsel, Jacqueline served as FCS Associate General Counsel, advising on a broad range of legal matters, including supporting clinical operations, privacy, and human resources. She also advised Executive Leadership on litigation strategy and oversaw outside counsel. Her collaborative approach and strategic insight have earned her recognition as a trusted advisor across departments and among senior leadership.
Jacqueline is a frequent speaker at legal conferences and is passionate about mentoring emerging legal professionals and fostering a culture of integrity, authenticity, and innovation. She serves in executive leadership of the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and often presents for the organization and others, including the Hillsborough County Bar Association, Consero, and the Defense Research Institute.
Jacqueline’s legal career began at the Tampa office of one of the top law firms in the United States. Initially trained as a litigator, she focused her early career on defending claims against medical providers and facilities, defending medical malpractice cases, and serving as outside general counsel to healthcare entities. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Florida State University College of Law’s Healthcare Juris Master’s program. Jacqueline graduated from Georgetown Law and received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of Florida.
Jacqueline’s connection to FCS is deeply personal. As shared in her story, her family’s journey with cancer shaped her professional path and inspired her to join FCS, where she could align her legal expertise with a mission that resonates with her values. This personal experience continues to inform her leadership and advocacy for compassionate, patient-focused care.
