Medical Director of RadiologyMedina Kushen, MD is a board-certified nuclear medicine physician with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, specializing in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors.
As medical director of radiology, Dr. Kushen provides clinical leadership and oversight for the radiopharmaceutical therapy program and the development and delivery of imaging services across the statewide practice.
Dr. Kushen received her medical doctorate from the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, graduating in the top ten percent of her class. She completed preliminary surgery residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, followed by residencies in neurosurgery at The University of Chicago and in nuclear medicine at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Actively engaged in research, her clinical trials experience spans Phase 1, 2 and 3 studies focused on specialized imaging and therapies for cancer. Dr. Kushen has authored several books and articles and presented her work at professional symposiums.
Dr. Kushen joined FCS in 2017 and was appointed medical director of radiology in 2024. She serves on the FCS Quality Committee. Previously, Dr. Kushen served as an attending physician with Radiology Regional Center in Fort. Myers, Florida.
