Samantha Watkins
Vice President, Operations and Special ProjectsSam oversees all aspects of the daily operations of Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) clinical locations throughout Florida, encompassing staffing and training, facilities and equipment, fiscal performance, and policy and compliance oversight. Additionally, she provides leadership oversight of special projects that advance the practice’s strategic initiatives such as data governance, service line integration, engagement of teams and vendor relations.
Sam began her FCS career in 2008 as a patient services specialist and was soon promoted to an executive assistant role, where she gained a deep understanding of practice operations. Her attention to detail and leadership qualities quickly led to expanded responsibilities as associate, then regional and senior director of operations. She has been instrumental in opening numerous FCS clinic locations from inception. She was named Vice President of Operations in 2022 and promoted to her current role the following year.
Sam was named a Tampa Bay Business Observer 40-Under-40 winner in 2020. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration from St. Petersburg College.
As an active volunteer with the FCS Foundation for several years, serving regularly on special event committees, Sam continues to demonstrate her commitment to the well-being of cancer patients.
