Mahdi Taha, DO, FACOI, FACP

Dr. Mahdi Taha is a hematologist and medical oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists in Palm Beach County.

Dr. Taha earned his medical degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York. After completing his residency in Internal Medicine at the Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa, he was awarded a fellowship at Cancer Treatment Centers of America through Oklahoma State University, where he was named medical oncology Chief Fellow.

Prior to joining FCS in 2020, Dr. Taha volunteered for the American Red Cross Haiti Disaster Relief, where he cared for patients in Port-Au-Prince and at the World Trade Center during the tragic 9/11 catastrophe. He was also an adjunct clinical professor for the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and the lead medical oncologist at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America and Research Center.

In 2019, Dr. Taha received the Georgia Trend Magazine “40 Under 40 for 2019” Award and the Castle Connolly Top Doctor Award each year since 2017. He was also awarded the prestigious Atlanta Magazines’ “Top 500 Most Influential People in Atlanta” in 2020.

Dr. Taha has a strong interest in research with a focus in Thoracic Oncology, Head and Neck Cancer, ImmunoOncology, Genitourinary Oncology including prostate cancer, urothelial carcinoma and renal cell carcinoma, as well as skin cancers and breast cancer.

He has served on various research committees and participated as principal investigator within several clinical trial studies and serves as Director of Oncology at Delray Medical Center.

Dr. Taha has given international presentations at conferences such as the European Medical Society of Oncology, The International World Lung Conference and ACOI National Convention Case Presentation in San Antonio, Texas, which won the First Place, National Award.

Dr. Taha serves as a medical consultant nationally and internationally for numerous pharmaceutical and genomic projects. He has provided medical correspondence and been featured on television networks, including CBS, FOX, NBC and Telemundo.
