Stephen Vara, MD
Board-certified in Medical Oncology and Hematology Stephen Vara, MD joined Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) in January 2020. After receiving his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, he completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago and then completed a medical oncology/hematology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas.
Prior to joining FCS, Dr. Vara practiced at Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria, California, where he was actively involved in clinical research and served as a sub-investigator in conjunction with UCLA and the Translational Oncology Network. He also taught family medicine residents during their oncology rotation.
