
Yeshanew Teklie, MD
Dr. Teklie is a hematologist and medical oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in The Villages, Florida.
After completing his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Dr. Teklie was named as assistant chief resident during his residency training at Florida State University at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and completed a hematology oncology fellowship at LAC+USC Medical Center at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Teklie entered medical school with a strong background in hematology, clinical chemistry and transfusion medicine. As a medical laboratory technologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he gained expertise in microscopic analysis, CAP proficiency testing and lab operations management.
An active and dedicated volunteer, Dr. Teklie has provided medical care in community health clinics, tutored medical students, led efforts to support children at an orphanage, and served his church community as a deacon. He also enjoys chess and playing drums.
