Tarek Eldawy, MD
Tarek Eldawy, MD is a hematologist and medical oncologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute. He provides care to patients in Altamonte Springs and Oviedo.
In 2007, Dr. Eldawy joined Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida as a staff oncologist and later ascended to leadership roles as Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Medical Director of the Medical Oncology Group and Medical Staff President. He was also an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine at Sacred Heart Hospital. Dr. Eldawy joined FCS in 2023.
Dr. Eldawy received his medical degree and a master’s in Internal Medicine from Alexandria University in Egypt. He completed Internal Medicine residency training at Alexandria University and at Michigan State University in East Lansing and was awarded a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at Caritas St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. Throughout his medical training, Dr. Eldawy received accolades that included being named as Chief Fellow, Chief Resident and Outstanding Resident, and he was recognized with the Outstanding Teaching Resident Award at Michigan State University.
Dr. Eldawy is extensively involved in clinical research and has served as a principal investigator and sub-investigator in numerous clinical trials. His abstracts have been published in peer-reviewed professional journals and presented at industry symposiums.
