Scott Tetreault, MD
Dr. Tetreault is a medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) in Tallahassee, Florida. He is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine and palliative medicine.
Dr. Tetreault is an investigator in more than 50 clinical trials and is widely published in the scientific literature. He was the principal investigator for the DYNAMO trial which led to the FDA approval of Duvelisib (Copiktra®) as a novel agent for the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma.
Since joining FCS in 1999, Dr. Tetreault has been a driving force to ensure that local residents have convenient access to world-class cancer care close to home. He helped to establish the first FCS clinic in Tallahassee in 2012. He was honored in 2022 as a Heart of Gold Recognition Award recipient by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Big Bend Chapter for his notable efforts to benefit the Tallahassee community.
Dr. Tetreault is well known to elected officials in the state capitol and in Washington, DC as a trusted advisor and advocate on issues related to cancer care access and affordability. He is a member of the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) board of directors. At FCS, he serves on the Disciplinary & Ethics Committee.
After receiving his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Dr. Tetreault completed residency training at the University of Florida Shand’s Hospital and an oncology fellowship at Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation in La Jolla, California.
Dr. Tetreault was awarded the Rhone Poulenc Fellowship Award in 1998 for breast cancer research. Other honors include selection by his peers as Doctor of the Year (2003), the Goldman Award for contributions to the cancer community (2009) and selection by the Consumer Research Council as one of “America’s Top Oncologists” every year since 2006.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, The American College of Physicians and was granted the honor of being selected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in the U.K.
