Jose Alemar, MD
Dr. Jose Alemar first became interested in becoming an oncologist in high school after a childhood friend was diagnosed with cancer. Today, with the range of resources now available and continued rapid treatment breakthroughs, he believes that even patients in the most advanced stages of cancer can have hope.
Dr. Alemar received his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa and was awarded a fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the University of South Florida H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He is Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology.
Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) in 2011, he was in practice with Gulfcoast Oncology Associates in Safety Harbor, Florida.
