Jayan Nair, MD

Dr. Jayan Nair is a Board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Sarasota County. He has provided hematology and oncology care in community, academic and hospital settings for more than 10 years.

Dr. Nair has been actively involved in clinical research that has led to numerous cancer treatment advances that include chemotherapeutic and behavioral interventions. He has authored and co-authored several abstracts published in prestigious journals and presented at professional symposiums.

After receiving his medical degree from T D Medical College at the University of Kerala, India, Dr. Nair completed an Internal Medicine residency at Maulana Azad Medical College at the University of Delhi, India. He then fulfilled mandatory service providing primary care and urgent care at multiple underserved locations in the state of Kerala, India.

In 2002, after completing additional British training and a multistep examination process, Dr. Nair was inducted for Membership to the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom. At the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, he completed a second residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology.

Throughout his medical training, he served as a preceptor and supervised medical students and Oncology fellows during clinical rotations.

Dr. Nair joined Florida Cancer Specialists in Sarasota County as a hospitalist in 2022, providing care to patients admitted for inpatient care. He transitioned to the FCS clinic team in Downtown Sarasota in 2023. Prior to joining FCS, Dr. Nair served as a consultant hematologist/oncologist with TMH Cancer Center in Tallahassee, Florida and with Sanford Clinic, Bemidji, Minnesota.
