Eric Harris, DO
Dr. Eric Harris is an oncologist and hematologist for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Volusia county. He received diverse preparation in his early medical training, having been an immunology research technician as well as a supervising medical technologist in a flow cytometry lab at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Dr. Harris served as Chief Fellow, Hematology/Oncology at the University of Florida, Department of Medicine and was twice awarded the Gold Key Customer Service Award by Shands Hospital (2009 and 2014), as well as the Teaching Excellence Award by the University of Florida in 2010.
Dr. Harris has a keen interest in clinical research. He has been published in Case Reports in Oncology and has presented abstracts and published for several annual scientific meetings, including the Florida chapter of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Hematology. He is currently on the Board of Directors for the Florida Society of Clinical Oncology and sits on the Integrated Media and Technology Committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Harris and his wife have four daughters and, since moving to Ormond Beach, he has taken up surfing. He is also enjoys running and confesses to being horrible at golf – but loves it!
