Blessy Mathew Jacob, MD
Dr. Jacob is a medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) in Sarasota County, Florida.
Dr. Jacob is actively involved in clinical research and serves as a principal investigator of clinical trials, including blood cancer and breast cancer trials. Her work has been published in such prestigious journals as the American Journal of Clinical Oncology and the International Journal of Hematology and Oncology. She has also given several oral presentations and delivered abstracts at regional and national industry conferences.
Dr. Jacob is board certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine. She serves on the FCS Quality Committee. She is also a member of the quality improvement and patient safety committee at Sarasota Memorial Hospital—Venice and was selected to participate on the hematology research committee.
During her fellowship in oncology/hematology at the University of South Florida Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Dr. Jacob was selected for the Fellows Recognition program at the annual conference of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) and served on the Quality Committee at Moffitt Cancer Center. Dr. Jacob received her medical degree from the University of South Florida and completed internal medicine residency training at Emory University in Atlanta.
Throughout her career, Dr. Jacob has volunteered in her local community and beyond, including serving as a Medical Missions volunteer in the Dominican Republic.

Dr. Blessy Jacob always new she wanted to be a doctor. As an oncologist, she strives to make the cancer journey as comfortable as possible for patients and their families by being open and honest and clear about timelines and what to expect during treatment to establish manageable expectations. She has a special interest in treating breast and lung cancers.
