Ameet Patel, MD

Dr. Patel is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Pinellas County, Florida.

A cellular therapy expert and blood and marrow transplant specialist, Dr. Patel has a special interest in CAR T-cell therapy and bone marrow transplants. Actively involved in clinical trial research focused on lymphoma and myeloid diseases, Dr. Patel has served as principal investigator and sub-investigator on numerous Phase 1 through 3 clinical trials and has authored abstracts published in prestigious industry journals. He joined FCS in 2025.

Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville and completed residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. He was named chief fellow during his hematology/oncology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and, concurrently, completed a Master of Management in health care at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management.

Dr. Patel has held various leadership positions with the Community Oncology Alliance since 2023 and participates in state advocacy and government relations efforts.

He enjoys fitness activities, especially hiking with family, and trying out new places to eat.
