Shijia Zhang, MD, PhD Joins FCS

FCS Cancer Team Grows in Hillsborough County

Fort Myers, Fla., February 3, 2025 – Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, LLC (FCS) is pleased to welcome board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist Shijia Zhang, MD, PhD to the statewide practice. Dr. Zhang is providing care to patients at the FCS Brandon Cancer Center and FCS Sun City Center locations.

“Throughout his career, Dr. Zhang has received recognition for clinical excellence and his passion for contributing to cutting-edge advancements. We are very pleased to welcome him to our team of cancer experts in Hillsborough County,” said FCS Chief Executive Officer Nathan H. Walcker.

Dr. Zhang earned his medical degree from Tongji University School of Medicine and a doctorate in biomedical sciences from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed an internal medicine residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in Newark, followed by a hematology and medical oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
