FCS Fort Myers – Colonial Lab Team Recognized for Quality Laboratory Services
Fort Myers, Fla., August 4, 2022 – Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, LLC (FCS) Fort Myers – Colonial lab team has met all the criteria for Laboratory Accreditation by COLA Inc., a leading national laboratory accreditor, whose program and standards enable clinical laboratories and staff to meet United States Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act (CLIA) and other regulatory requirements.
Through a mentoring approach using education to improve quality and patient safety, accreditation is given to laboratories that apply the highest standards of quality in day-to-day operations, demonstrate continued accuracy in the performance of proficiency testing, and pass a rigorous on-site laboratory survey. The FCS Fort Myers – Colonial lab team has earned COLA Inc. accreditation to provide quality service to its patients.
The FCS Ft. Myers – Colonial lab team is also the recipient of the Laboratory Excellence Award, which signifies their commitment in performing quality patient testing and superior overall laboratory practices. Beyond these requirements, the lab had to demonstrate successful proficiency testing for three prior testing events with no substantiated complaints to receive this award.
“The patient experience is influenced at every touchpoint. When our patients have access to a reliable, efficient lab within their clinic, there is a direct correlation to their confidence in our team to deliver high-quality care across the board, and is a reflection of the value we provide,” says FCS President & Managing Physician Michael Diaz, MD.
“Delivering high-quality care extends to every corner of our practice and our labs are no exception. To be recognized for excellence is a team effort and represents our values as a patient-centered organization,” remarked FCS Chief Executive Officer Nathan Walcker. “I commend this team for delivering a high caliber of laboratory services consistently and with excellence.”
