Our History
40 Years at the Forefront
Cancer treatment was quite different in the 1980s. Patients had to travel miles from home to access quality care. A handful of oncology physicians based in Fort Myers believed in the power of providing comprehensive cancer care in community settings. They set out to establish smaller clinics where patients could access all they needed from skilled and caring professionals in a convenient location close to home. Gradually, with great forethought and continuous strategic investments, that footprint expanded across Florida. A pivotal decision to open a clinical research program set the stage for advancing science and new discoveries on a global scale to provide patients with the most personalized, advanced treatments available.

Our Footprint
FCS serves patients throughout Florida, on the Gulf Coast from Naples to Tallahassee, Central Florida and on the East Coast from Palm Beach County to Jacksonville.
2023 Annual Report
2023 was a significant year for FCS, as our statewide practice expanded its footprint geographically, welcomed several clinical experts to our team and broadened our capabilities with new services, treatment options, and beyond. Much time was dedicated to realigning the inner functions of our practice to prepare for the launch of our management services organization, Core Ventures, which occurred in January 2024, that unifies and strengthens all facets of our business. We’ve captured the highlights and our greatest achievements in the 2023 Annual Report.
Access to National Clinical Trials
Recognized by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with a national Clinical Trials Participation Award, FCS offers patients access to more clinical trials than any private oncology practice in Florida. Our patients have access to ground-breaking therapies, in a community setting, and may participate in national clinical research studies of drugs and treatment protocols. In the past five years, the majority of new cancer drugs approved for use in the U.S. were studied in clinical trials with FCS participation prior to approval. Through our partnership with Sarah Cannon, we are one of the largest clinical research organizations in the United States. Often, FCS leads the nation in initiating research studies and offering ground-breaking new therapies to patients.
