Shilen Patel, MD
Dr. Patel is a board-certified medical oncologist and hematologist with Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Hernando and Pasco counties.
Active in clinical research, Dr. Patel has given numerous presentations in a variety of settings and his work has been published in distinguished journals and publications.
Dr. Patel completed medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies and residency training at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He was awarded a fellowship in hematology/medical oncology at Case Comprehensive Cancer Center in Cleveland.
Following his fellowship, Dr. Patel served as an assistant clinical attending physician at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York/New Jersey, where he was also active in teaching hematology/oncology fellows in an outpatient clinical setting.
His professional memberships include the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, American Association for Cancer Research and the Association for Value-Based Oncology Care. Dr. Patel has been a supporter of several non-profit organizations, including Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society.
