Estrella Carballido, MD
After graduating Magna Cum Laude from medical school, Dr. Estrella Carballido completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. While there, she served as Chief Resident in the program. Dr. Carballido finished her fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where she joined the faculty as an Assistant Member. Before coming to FCS, Dr. Carballido joined Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in Scottsdale, Arizona as Assistant Professor of Medicine where she focused on genitourinary malignancies and melanoma.
Dr. Carballido has presented her clinical research findings at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) national conferences. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts in the prestigious Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Carballido has special interests, and has been very active, in clinical research in bladder, kidney, renal pelvis and prostate cancer. In August 2016, Dr. Carballido joined Florida Cancer Specialists in Lee County.
