During his distinguished career, Dr. Bennett Yu has demonstrated a keen interest in academic medicine and clinical research, having held various research positions and served as assistant professor at both Wayne State University and the Eastern Virginia Medical School. In 1994, Dr. Yu began practicing at the Josephine Ford Cancer Center, where he served as medical oncology consultant in the Multidisciplinary Breast Clinic and Brain Tumor Clinic. From 2005-2007, Dr. Yu served as medical director of the Oncology Therapeutic Area at Wyeth Research in Cambridge, MA. From 2007-2012, he became Director of Oncology Research at the Peninsula Cancer Center in Salisbury, MD and in 2012 served as Director of Research at West Michigan Cancer Center. 

Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists, Dr. Yu served as Director, Moffitt Cancer Center at International Plaza in Tampa, FL, where he was also a member of the GI Tumor Program. A recognized leader in clinical research, Dr. Yu has been an invited speaker at national and regional conferences and his research has been extensively published in such prestigious journals as the Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of the National Cancer Institute.
