Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute Enters Agreement with Department of Justice to Resolve Antitrust Matter

FORT MYERS, FL., April 30, 2020 – Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, LLC (“FCS”) today announced that it has entered into a deferred prosecution agreement (“DPA” or “agreement”) with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division that will resolve allegations relating to past anticompetitive conduct in Southwest Florida.

The agreement was filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, Fort Myers Division and will fully resolve the matter against FCS in exchange for payment of a monetary fine, continued adherence to Federal and State antitrust laws, waiver of certain non-compete clauses, and the continuation of FCS’s existing, robust compliance program. As recognized by the Justice Department, FCS has fully cooperated with the government’s investigation. Separately, FCS has entered into a settlement with the Florida Office of the Attorney General regarding related claims.
