Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute Welcomes Dr. Alexander Glick

Nation’s Largest Independent Hematology/Oncology Practice Adds Hospitalist in Charlotte County

 

Port Charlotte, FL – September 9, 2016……… Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS)), the leading community oncology/hematology practice in the state, is pleased to announce that Alexander Glick, MD, has joined the practice as a hospitalist and will be seeing FCS patients who require hospitalization at three hospital locations. Dr. Glick will have privileges at Fawcett Memorial, Bayfront Port Charlotte and Bayfront Punta Gorda.

Dr. Vance M. Wright-Browne, who practices in Port Charlotte, explained, “Dr. Glick will ensure there is a seamless continuation of care for our patients who are hospitalized. He will work directly with the FCS physicians in our community cancer center and, through our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, he will be able to access patients’ charts immediately to continue their treatment plan and augment their care while they are in the hospital.”

After earning his undergraduate degree at Wayne State University and his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine, Dr. Alexander Glick completed his Internal Medicine residency at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, MI. He then pursued a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, MI, where he served as Chief Fellow and provided mentorship to Internal Medicine Residents. During his Fellowship, Dr. Glick was faculty-selected to become the first recipient of the Freeman Wilner Foundation award for dedication to excellence, commitment to patients, and providing compassionate care. Dr. Glick has an avid interest in clinical research and has been published in leading oncology journals. Throughout his career, Dr. Glick has volunteered by educating his local community on the pathology of cancer, its prevention and treatment.
