Fort Myers, Fla., November 1, 2019 — Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS) welcomes Medical Oncologist/Hematologist Brandon Konkel, MD.
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Konkel received his medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colo. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UT Health San Antonio in San Antonio, Texas. He then completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Konkel has a keen interest in clinical research and presented the results of a phase two clinical trial in glioblastoma in poster format at the general meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in 2019. He also served as a fellow editor for HemOncReview.com, a board examination preparation website. He joins FCS as an inpatient medical oncologist/hematologist serving patients in Pinellas County at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Palms of Pasadena Hospital and Bayfront Health.
