Nation’s Largest Independent Oncology Group Adds Two Physicians to Central Florida Offices
Orlando, FL – August 4, 2016……… Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS), the leading community oncology/hematology practice in the state, is pleased to announce that Muhammed Imam, MD and Yaman Suleiman, MD have joined the practice and will be seeing patients at the Orange Orlando office of Florida Cancer Specialists, located at 2501 N. Orange Avenue, Suites 381 and 389, Orlando, FL and the Winter Park office, located at 2100 Glenwood Drive, Suite 102, Winter Park, FL.

Dr. Muhammad “Hassan” Imam was born in Santa Barbara, California, but grew up most of his life in Deltona, Florida. He was valedictorian of his high school and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Miami. Dr. Imam joined Florida Cancer Specialists after completinghis Fellowship in Hematology/ Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, TX. During his Fellowship, he often gave CME presentations on various cancer topics and he also presented at the National T-Cell Lymphoma Forum in San Francisco in 2012. Dr. Imam has been published in several journals, including Leukemia & Lymphoma and the prestigious American Journal of Clinical Oncology. In additional to being a husband and father of two young children, Dr. Imam is a co-founder of Project Downtown, a non-profit organization that serves the homeless and needy populations in over 20 cities nationwide. Project Downtown began several years ago as an informal initiative by a group of students at the University of Miami who were determined to make a difference in the lives of these individuals.
After completing his Fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at Moffitt Cancer Center, Dr. Yaman Suleiman joined Florida Cancer Specialists’ offices in Central Florida. While in medical school, Dr. Suleiman volunteered totreat patients in underserved areas and participated in several prevention programs; his training included additional sub-internships at Cleveland Clinic Foundation, University of Illinois College of Medicine and a clinical rotation at Duke University School of Medicine. Dr. Suleiman treats patients with a broad range of oncologic and hematologic diseases. He has a special interest in multiple myeloma,colon, lung and breast cancers, as well as a keen interest in translational and clinical research. He participated in severalretrospective and prospective studies and he has been published in such prestigious journals as Biology of Bloodand Marrow Transplantation Journal, Leukemia Research Journal, Cancer Chemotherapy Pharmacology Journal and Cancer Control Journal. He hasalso given numerous presentations and delivered abstracts at bothregional and national Oncology/Hematology conferences.Fluent in two languages, Dr. Suleiman enjoys swimming, soccer and traveling in his personal time, as well as spending time with his wife and two children.
