Dr. Estrella Carballido Joins Florida Cancer Specialists in Lee County
Fort Myers, FL – August 29, 2016……… Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute (FCS),the leading community oncology/hematology practice in the state, is pleased to announce that Estrella Carballido, MD has joined the practice and is seeing patients at three FCS locations in Lee County, FL. Dr. Carballido will practice at the Gladiolus Cancer Center, located at 8260 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL, at the Cape Coral Cay West office, located at 1708 Cape Coral Parkway West, Suite 10, Cape Coral, FL and at the Colonial office, located at 8931 Colonial Center Drive, Suite 300, Fort Myers, FL.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from medical school, Dr. Estrella Carballido completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. While there, she served as Chief Resident in the program. Dr. Carballido finished her fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, where she joined the faculty as an Assistant Member. Before coming to FCS, Dr. Carballido joined Mayo Clinic Cancer Center in Scottsdale, Arizona, one of the largest and most highly-regarded medical centers in the world and internationally recognized for its scientific excellence and focus on cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment. There, she served as Assistant Professor of Medicine where she focused on genitourinary malignancies and melanoma.
Dr. Carballido has presented her clinical research findings at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) national conferences. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals and abstracts in the prestigious Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Carballido has special interests, and has been very active, in clinical research in bladder, kidney, renal pelvis and prostate cancer.
