Jeff Esham
Vice President of Radiation Oncology and Radiology
An experienced executive in oncology care, Jeff Esham directs Florida Cancer Specialists' radiation oncology and radiology services. Jeff’s responsibilities include the operations, strategic direction and planning for these services throughout the company. He is also responsible for developing new clinical sites, technology updates and physician relationships. Prior to joining FCS in 2012, Jeff served for six years as Administrative Director of Memorial Cancer Institute in Hollywood, FL, one of the largest public healthcare systems in the United States. A native of Kentucky, Esham attended the University of Miami and received his bachelor's degree and master of business administration (MBA) degree from Nova Southeastern University. Jeff and his wife Katie, a perinatal ultra-sonographer, have two children and enjoy spending time together as a family.
Jeremy Behling
Senior Director of Operations
As Senior Director of Operations, Jeremy Behling works closely with the Executive Team and Regional Directors to optimize practice operations inclusive of supporting site mergers and key business development opportunities for FCS. Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists in 2013, Jeremy served as Director of Administration for the Center for Hematology-Oncology, a multi-site outpatient oncology program in Boca Raton, FL. In this role Jeremy was responsible for oversight of all business operations, program development, physician revenue cycle and administrative functions for the oncology practice.
Along with his extensive operations background in both the public and private sectors, Jeremy has expertise in financial operations, healthcare collections, operational improvement, performance turnaround and supply chain management. Jeremy is a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Kaizen Master.
Jeremy received his bachelor's degree in Microbiology from The University of Alabama and is a 2013 MBA candidate from The University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business.
Jeremy enjoys spending time with his wife and son, playing golf and scuba diving.
Lois Poel
Senior Regional Director
Lois Poel is Florida Cancer Specialists’ Senior Regional Director of Operations for the areas from Naples to Bradenton along the Gulf Coast and Gainesville. In this capacity, she oversees the daily operation and functions of the clinical locations within those regions. Lois joined FCS in 2007 as the manager of Naples West and Napa Ridge offices, later adding the Naples Goodlette office. Also, Lois has served on the FCS Merger Team, participating in the acquisition of new office locations. A native of Western Michigan, Lois earned her licensed practical nurse (LPN) degree and worked as a nurse and office manager for a general surgeon in Michigan for 17 years. Subsequently, she worked as a practice manager for a large multi-specialty group in Grand Haven, Michigan. The Michigan State Medical Society recognized Lois’ achievements in the state’s Medical Business Professional Program. Since moving to Florida in 2006, Lois has been involved in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. She enjoys photography and spending time with family in Michigan.
Jeffrey Rubin
Senior Regional Director
Jeffrey Rubin is Florida Cancer Specialists' Senior Regional Director for Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando and Citrus counties in Florida. In that role, he oversees the daily operations and functions of the clinical locations within these areas. Before becoming Senior Regional Director in 2010, Rubin was Senior Office Manager, supervising and coordinating personnel in FCS' clerical, nursing, laboratory and pharmacy with responsibilities for all on-site operations. Jeff has been with FCS since 2003 when he joined Oncology Physicians as Pharmacy Manager, and was promoted to HR Manager for the company, supervising radiology and radiation personnel. Jeff began his career in the pharmaceutical field as a Sales Manager and Certified Pharmacy Technician at Tarpon Plaza Drugs in Tarpon Springs for seven years. He earned his Pharmacy Technician Certification in 1999 and then worked as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Morton Plant Mease Hospital. Jeff graduated from the University of South Florida in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science. Jeff is an avid scuba diver who enjoys spending time with his family.
Ray Bailey
Director of Pharmacy
Ray Bailey is responsible for overseeing the operations of Florida Cancer Specialists' Oncology Specialty Pharmacy, Rx To Go, including financial management, business development, new drug access, purchasing contracts and overall formulary management. Bailey was promoted to Director of Pharmacy in 2010, two years after joining FCS as Pharmacy Manager. From 2005 until 2007, Bailey was General Manager of Walgreens/OptionCare of Southwest Florida. Also, he has been a Staff Pharmacist at Naples Community Hospital, owner of a pharmacy in Pine Island, FL and President/CEO-Owner of OptionCare of Southwest Florida, a national franchise of home infusion pharmacy services. Ray earned his bachelor's and graduate degree from the University of Georgia. Licensed in the state of Florida since 1981, Ray is active in numerous professional organizations, including the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the national Community Pharmacist Association and the Florida Pharmacy Association.
Tim Boozan
Director, Operational Transitions
As Director, Operational Transitions, Tim Boozan is responsible for integrating new medical practices into the Florida Cancer Specialists organization. In addition, Tim leads the company's informatics and data program allowing FCS to leverage the analysis, aggregation and packaging of the group's vast data storage. Boozan joined FCS in 2008 as Director of Operations and served as Director of Information Technology and Marketing. In that role, he managed the company's marketing functions, as well as all aspects of FCS' fully integrated electronic medical records (EMR) system, system architecture, and customer support. Also, Tim launched the Florida Cancer Specialist Foundation, a not-for-profit established in 2011 by the FCS physicians. Tim has a diverse background that combines nursing skills with significant business experience. Before joining FCS, he founded the medical management department of Florida’s largest third-party administrator and served as its director for 11 years. Prior to that, he worked as a pediatric head injury nurse in a rehabilitation hospital. Tim earned a B.S. in business administration from Truman State University and an associate degree in nursing science from the State College of Florida. Tim enjoys volunteering with youth organizations and works with numerous non-profit organizations.
Sarah Cevallos
Director of Revenue Cycle
As Director of Revenue Cycle, Sarah Cevallos is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the Florida Cancer Specialists' business office. In this role, she supports FCS through accurate billing, timely collection and precise payment posting, while delivering a positive patient experience. Since joining FCS in 2008, she has held several finance-related positions of increasing responsibility. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Nova Southeastern University and an MBA degree from Western Governors University with a concentration in Healthcare Management.
John Dodd
Director of Procurement Management
John Dodd, PHR, Director of Procurement Management, joined FCS in 2008. In this role, John oversees the purchase of IV chemotherapy drugs and associated ancillary items. Also, John is responsible for facility management for all FCS clinical locations. With over 35 years of experience in Procurement Management in both the public and private sectors, John has worked for companies ranging from 275 – 3000 employees. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, an Associate’s degree in Logistics Management and Personnel Management and a Florida insurance broker’s license. John retired from the military in 1999 after 24 years in the Air Force, serving 16 years in the United States and 8 years in Germany and Portugal. Along with his wife Sandie, John is an avid cruise enthusiast and his hobbies include car racing and golf.
Inga Gonzalez
Regional Director
Inga Gonzalez is the Regional Director in Central Florida. She oversees the daily operations and functions of the clinical locations within this area. She joined FCS in 2011, as the result of a merger with Florida Hematology & Oncology Specialists and Lake County Oncology & Hematology. She had been Practice Manager for these practices since 2009. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Inga entered the medical field in 1998 when she founded a medical billing and collections firm. After moving to Orlando in 2005, Inga became the Clinic Manager for a pain management clinic. She subsequently became the Manager of Patient Services for the Florida Heart Group, where she developed physician protocols and optimized patient flow for 16 physicians and 2 nurse practitioners. Inga is fluent in Russian and enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
Katie Goodman
Director of Research
As Director of Clinical Research for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute, Katie Goodman oversees the organization's research program operations, including managing a team of highly qualified research nurses and staff. Through ongoing collaboration with pharmaceutical sponsors and numerous research organizations, Katie is dedicated to bringing cutting-edge clinical trials to FCS patients. In 2011, these efforts were recognized when FCS was awarded by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) with the prestigious Clinical Trials Participation Award
Prior to joining FCS in 2001, Katie has over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry including critical care nursing and pulmonary/thoracic surgery. Katie holds a bachelor of nursing science (BSN) degree from Florida State University and is a Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRP) through the Society of Clinical Research Associates. A native Floridian, Katie enjoys spending time in her garden, writing a cookbook and raising two children with her husband in Sarasota.
Sue Kearney
Director of Compliance and Ancillary Services
Sue Kearney manages the organization's adherence to the compliance plan and practice policies. Her responsibilities include legal adherence, HIPAA, coding, auditing and transcription. She is also responsible for Florida Cancer Specialists’ central laboratory, pathology laboratory and all laboratories located within the FCS offices. Before joining FCS in 1999, Sue worked for 16 years in pediatric oncology at Fletcher Allen Health Care/University of Vermont as a Certified Clinical Research Associate (CCRA), where she also performed coding, auditing and billing. Sue earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Vermont. A member of Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), Sue enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, reading and gardening.
Christina Sievert
Director of Clinic Financial Services
As Director of Clinic Financial Services, Christina Sievert oversees all functions of the Financial Counselors in the Florida Cancer Specialists offices and is dedicated to ensuring that every patient has a positive experience. In her role, Christina is responsible for intake registration, utilization management, patient resolution, self-pay collections and financial aid. A member of the FCS team since 2003, she has held numerous positions within the organization. Prior to joining FCS, Christina was the Director of Patient Business Services for Cape Coral Eye Center. She has worked in the healthcare industry for more than 25 years and continues to be an active member of Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), Oncology Managers of Florida (OMF), and Southern Association of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology (SATRO).
Denice Veatch
Director, Financial Reporting and Analysis
As Director, Financial Reporting and Analysis, Denice Veatch is responsible for supporting the company’s reporting and analytical needs, including routine reporting and supporting special projects, including mergers and capital deployment. Prior to joining FCS in 2008, Veatch worked with several large multi-specialty practice groups and hospital organizations in both operational and financial roles. After graduating from Cameron University with a bachelor’s degree in management and finance, Denice earned her master of business administration (MBA) from Oklahoma City University. On the personal side, Denice enjoys spending time with her family and friends, gardening, and going to the beach.
Samantha Watkins
Regional Director
Samantha Watkins is Florida Cancer Specialists' Regional Director for Region 4, which includes Tampa and Hillsborough County. As Regional Director, Sam is responsible for the management of daily operations for 5 clinics, including the Tampa Cancer Center, and 15 physicians. She also has spent much time completing special projects for the CEO and the FCS executive management team. Sam joined FCS in 2008, becoming Executive Assistant to the VP of Operations. She then moved into the Assistant Director of Operations position for Regions 3 and 5 before moving into Region 4. She led the opening of the Tampa Cancer Center in October of 2012. Samantha earned her bachelor's degree in health services administration in 2012. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter, and her hobbies include running and reading.
Katherine "Kit" Robertson
Associate Director of Integrated Clinical Services
Responsible for overseeing the Florida Cancer Specialists' Integrated Clinical Services team, Katherine "Kit" Robertson provides training and support services to all physicians and clinical staff for the electronic medical records (EMR) system. Robertson joined FCS in 2008 as the Director of Operations, bringing with her extensive nursing experience, including serving as a floor nurse and charge nurse in several hospitals in Virginia and West Virginia, a home health nurse and a clinical nursing instructor for Germanna Community College in Spotsylvania, Virginia. From 1998 to 2001, Robertson was the Admissions Coordinator at Mary Washington Hospice in Fredericksburg, Virginia, before moving to Florida and holding positions with several oncology practices. Robertson received her Bachelor of Nursing science degree from the University of Phoenix. When she is not working, Kit enjoys spending time with her family, including her “three great kids.”
