Edgar Miranda, MD
Dr. Edgar Miranda is an oncologist and hematologist for Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute in Pinellas county. He considers it a “blessing and an opportunity” to interact with his patients, whom he describes as “very special people.” He is grateful for the rapid development of new therapies that provide him with many more options to target specific cancer mutations so that his patients can enjoy many more special moments in life.
Board-certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Miranda received his medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He completed residency training in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Oncology/Hematology at the University of South Florida Moffitt Cancer Center.
Prior to joining Florida Cancer Specialists in 2008, he provided care to patients in private practice in Palm Harbor, Florida and his native Puerto Rico. He also served as Assistant Clinical Instructor in the Department of Internal Medicine at San Juan Bautista Medical School in Caguas, PR.
