Alpana Ashok Desai, MD
Dr. Desai is a medical oncologist for Florida Cancer Specialists and Research Institute in Martin County. She graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine and received her internal medicine training at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO. After completing her residency, Dr. Desai relocated to the Stuart, FL area, where she practiced emergency and internal medicine, before completing her Medical Oncology Fellowship at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. Dr. Desai has been treating cancer patients in Stuart, FL since 2002 and joined Florida Cancer Specialists in 2017.
Dr. Desai is focused on treating the whole patient, utilizing conventional and complementary therapies. In 2018, she completed a prestigious Integrative Medicine Fellowship, led by internationally-recognized integrative medicine pioneer Andrew Weil, MD, at the University of Arizona Medical School.
Demonstrated by her active participation in various research projects throughout her training, Dr. Desai has an avid interest in clinical research. She has served as principal investigator in a number of clinical trials and has a special interest in breast, colorectal and lung malignancies.
